Guild Rules
Guild Rules and Regulations
The 3 Core Rules of Reckless Abandon:
1) Treat all players (whether they are in or outside of the guild) as you would like to be treated yourself; with respect and dignity.
2) Do not abuse guild chat, open chat, Ventrilo or teamspeak. Excessive abusive or offensive language will not be tolerated. Do not bad-mouth other guilds or players in open chat (guild chat, ventrilo general, raid chats/raid ventrilo, ooc, shouts, level chats.
3) Conduct yourself at all times with the realization that you represent Reckless Abandon. Do not lower yourself to displays of bad sportsmanship or conduct.
Failure to follow these three core rules will be dealt with harshly and can result in punishment ranging from demotion to ejection from the guild.
4) If you have a problem with a fellow guild-member for any reason, send a tell to an Officer, Guild Council Member or a Guild Leader, whoever is available at the time. ANY knock down drag outs in guild-chat will be handled immediately and decisively. Too many disturbances for this specific problem will result in ejection from the Guild.
5) Guild raids are not an exercise in democracy. The Raid Leader in charge of the specific raid has absolute authority and will decide who goes, group makeup, when to zone in, which targets to pull, how to pull, who will tank, who will assist and how loot will be distributed. While in raid, please conduct yourself professionally; listen to the raid leader, follow his or her directions, do not wander off. If you have something to say, send it to the raid officer in a private tell. Do not clutter raid chat with trivial chatter; try to keep it specific to the raid.
Loot in raids will generally be collected by the Raid Leader and handed out on a “Need-Before-Greed” basis.
6) Guild recruits will be promoted to member following a 2 week minimum probationary period and after they have registered at the guild website. During that time, try to group with as many guild members as possible so that we may get an idea of your general playing style. If you have not been promoted to Member after the initial period, send a tell to any on-line officer for a promotion. If you are already a member and have created an ALT, they can be promoted immediately upon guild invitation. ALTS will be promoted to either ALT Character or Officer ALT only, depending on the rank of the main character. There is currently no limit to number or types of alts, but please use common sense. There is no sense loading up the guild ranks with ALTS that are never played. Inactive players will generally be removed from roster after 100 days of inactivity unless prior arrangement has been made or notice given that your character will be inactive for a specified period of time. Any member removed for inactivity can always come back to the guild when they resume regular play.
7) Guild Council Members and Guild Leader are chosen and voted on by the current Council. The Guild Council is the main decision making body within Reckless Abandon. Guild Leaders are those Council Members that have shown the highest level of trust and devotion to the game and the guild.
8) Guild bank items are for EVERYONE in the guild. Items in the guild bank are to be withdrawn only for upgrades or use for that individual. Items are not to be sold or given away outside of guild. The guild bank is currently set up with Slot 1 and 2 for miscellaneous items and general guild use; Slot 3 and 4 for rare or otherwise valuable items and cash. All members have access to Slots 1 and 2
Slots 3 and 4 are restricted to Officer withdraws only, but anyone can make a donation.
Cash in Slot 3 exists for Guild Hall upkeep. Cash in slot 4 is for raid expenses and gear/spell upgrades. Cash, or item withdraw requests are to be submitted to the Guild Council or a Guild Leader, who will make the withdrawal if the request is approved. Abuse of the guild bank system will be grounds for ejection from the guild.
9) Whenever possible, help out other guild members with Writs, Heritage, and other important quests, even if you have done it 100 times before for others. What helps one guild member helps the whole guild, and once you become overly familiar with certain quests, you knowledge become invaluable by saving time for others to learn what you have learned.
10)Members that receive contested items from raids must equip and attune that item as soon as possible, or immediately if they can use it at the momment. Any contested items that are found being sold on the market, will result in immediate termination, the more important the item, the quicker the termination, or removal from guild. Contested items are items that more than one person desires. A highly contested item is one that is upgrades for multiple people in the raid, and is rolled on. If a member sells one of these, leads to immediate termination.
11) Raid participation on any given day will be determined by the Raid Leader using factors including but not limited to: first come/first serve, necessary character classes and levels for the specific scheduled event, etc. If you have shown up for a raid late and there is no room or your character class/level was an issue, you can place your name on a waiting list for spots to open. This is done by sending a direct tell to the Raid Leader. Make sure you have received a reply acknowledging that you have been placed on the waiting list. If you are on the waiting list, please park your raid toon that is waiting as near as possible to the zone-in and play an alt until you receive a tell that a spot has opened up for you. This will help minimize wait time for the raid force while we get you invited and into the raid zone. Also when planning to participate in a raid, make sure your character is fully mended, has an ample supply of high quality food and drink, cure potions, resist potions and elixers for stat boosts, god spells, etc. to make your toon as uber as possible.
12) Disclosing RA success tactics from instance zones or raid zones with non-allied raid guilds is strictly prohibited. Zone information is extremely difficult to develop and involves many hours and much debt to obtain. Infractions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Penalties can be anything from instance group / raid suspensions to being ejected from the guild depending on the seriousness of the offense.
13) When a player joins RA, the inviting officer will mark the character in officer notes as their “main” character on the guild roster (other characters joining will be marked as “alt of”). A player may change the designation of their “main” by request thru an officer & council approval.
14) Guild members that remove their main(s) or raid-capable toon(s) and place them in raiding guilds not allied with RA will be required to remove all other characters from the guild roster as well.
15) People who want to bring a new lower level toon to RA that have higher level raid toons in another guild will need to disclose this information upon joining. This scenario will then be discussed with that person and RA leadership at the earliest convenience.
