Problem getting into EQ

I was wondering if anyone else is having a problem getting into EQ.

I would show you a picture of the error but it wont let me paste anything here. Basically it says

Everquest II has detected an unrecoverable error and must shutdown.

I dont get it. I dont have an "E:\ my game is in C:\

It only has a few of my characters and I can see them from the character screen but the boxes with the information are blank.......

Update ... I called Sony and they had me download a new launcher. Why couldnt they just have the old launcher set up to download the new one and be on your way?
it is 10 GIGS! My gosh. But its cool. It tells you who is online and you can chat in EQ chat if you want without being in the game

Well, I logged onto EQ and it has NONE of my UI set up like I had it. Its all in the default AND EQ2Maps is gone.
I am trying now to start EQ with the old launcher to see if I still can.

I have not used the new launcher and haven't had a problem similar to the one you describe so guess I can't be of much help

Well, I had the "old launcher" do the full file scan and run it that way.
It worked fine I got into EQ and still had my maps /WHEW!
Hopefully it will stay fixed. I did leave a message with Sony that the issue
still isnt really resolved... hopefully they can give me an answer.
This is good therapy .... writing myself. I should probably keep it to emails tho.............. LOL

The "new" launcher is the beta thing they had about two years ago that should have listings for all the games on their server, unless they have played with it since they made me try to use it. Personally, and I know this is a lot of effort and work, I would blow away everything, re-install and update overnight so its ready the next day. The new launcher has a lot of nice bells and whisteles but was terribly unreliable and self contradicting.
